Just this week, the PepsiCo India team was feted at the Best Achievement in Marketing (BAM) Awards in New York for ‘No fear is too small’ – conceptualised by team Flibbr® for Mountain Dew. The BAM selects and awards the finest work from all PepsiCo brands across all categories and markets in the world.

This, (hopefully still not), has been the crowning glory for a campaign that has not just outperformed in the market, but picked up every award that matters – the Global WARC Awards, the EFFIES India Awards, the ABBY One Show, Marketers’ Excellence Awards, Campaign India Digital Crest Awards.

The campaign has won in multiple categories – from Instant Impact to Integrated campaign, Best Use of Influencer, Best Use of Social Media, Best Online Video, Best Out-of-home campaign, Best Use of Digital technology (Installation), Brand Activation & Promotion.

If we add to this the list of awards won for the same campaign by our media partners, there is Campaign of the Year, Media Innovation, Use of Technology and so on and so forth. The total number crosses 50.

If one had to look for learnings from this joyride, I would pick the following few:

1: Chase the intended goal of the campaign. If done well, the awards will follow.

2: It takes all partners to pull out all stops to make a success story like this one.

3: There is no greater ally for an idea than a client who believes in it.

While one cannot deny the joy a creative award brings, you cannot beat the pride that comes from knowing that the work you contributed to went on to become a marketing success, in the true sense of the words.
