Last week, team Flibbr® picked up a bunch of awards at MADDYs – the advertising awards hosted by the Madras Advertising Club. The metal haul included a Gold, three Silver and four Bronze trophies – all for our work on PepsiCo India’s brands.
What makes me happiest is the fact that the Gold and Silver trophies were picked up for the regional work we created for 7UP for the Tamil Nadu market. The strategy was market focused, the insights were local and the creative work was ideated, conceptualized and executed by local talent.
Too often brands run adaptations of ‘national’ campaigns in their regional markets with a lazy translation job. Neither is the work on strategy, nor does it leverage the potential power of local insights.
For 7UP, the team leveraged the region’s insatiable appetite for spicy food and spun the communication around it. Every nuance and flavor of the work was local. Which is exactly what we had set out to do.
For the Flibbr® team, the win at MADDYs comes as a welcome break from winning at the usual headliner award shows in India and abroad. And underscores our belief in the power of speaking to audiences in their own language.
